Middle School ELA Mini Lesson

I designed this interactive grammar and writing resource as part of a standards-aligned middle school literacy unit at Grey Eyed Owl Learning, using mentor sentences from The Hound of the Baskervilles. The unit supports explicit, application-based grammar instruction, guiding students to analyze model sentences, identify targeted grammatical structures, and transfer those structures into their own writing through revision.

To support differentiation and sustained skill development, I also created a sequence of grammar exercises, creative writing extensions, scaffolded reading supports, and a digital grammar resource library, emphasizing transfer of grammatical knowledge to authentic writing tasks rather than isolated practice.

The item aligns to CCSS L.6–8.1, L.6–8.2, and L.7–8.3, with secondary alignment to W.6–8.5.
